How will Keppel shares fare in the next 6 months and what is the outcome?

“DBS Group Research has upgraded Keppel Corp to “buy” from “hold” following its recent price correction and given that the strategic review of its offshore and marine (O&M) arm will “shine some light at the end of the tunnel”. Keppel shares jumped 6.1 per cent or S$0.26 to S$4.56 as at 11.07am on Wednesday. “

Again, I don’t hold any…But just doing a read for those out there who do. Why do I do this? hmmm…Perhaps, it is just my own personal sensing & opinion that human brokers, no matter how incredibly good they are at monitoring charts and interpreting data, are still unconsciously subjected to external distractions and emotions that influencing them, in turn impacting decisions. Why should we only rely on one source to decide? Again, such reads are left to your full discretion whether to buy, hold, sell.

OUTLOOK (Nine of Wands)

Wow…Talk about Offshore and Marine(O&M) and a visual exactly reflecting it appears! With this the outlook for Keppel shares is tuned and aligned greatly with this piece of news. There is a sensing of great ignition and driven towards banking their profitability of the company by banking on their O&M business for sure. The persistence is strong, but it the journey towards success will undeniably test their faith. Overall, the Nine of Wands reveal strongly that within the next 6 month period, it might be a case of ‘so close yet so far’, where their expectations and faith on the O&M business may not be what had been confidently projected towards, and the reasons seems to be due to matters of maritime boundaries as suggested by the card.

SITUATION (Strengths)

The Strength card represents strength, determination, and power — The card speaks to the inner strength and the human spirit’s ability to overcome any obstacles. If I were an investor of Keppel shares, I would be rather delighted by this card pick. It speaks of Keppel as a company, at present, possessing great stamina and persistence, balanced with underlying patience and inner calm. It suggests that the organisation as a whole is committed to what they need to do, and you go about it in a way that shows composure and maturity. Definitely encouraging in such a volatile business environment at the moment.

OBSTACLE (Knight of Wands)

As much as Keppel is focused ambitiously on charging forth with their targets and goals, they may face some fleeting episodes of unfocused strategy or decision making, a tad of impulse, or finding their efforts not come to what they might have expected and see momentary burn-out. Shares wise, it may suggest momentary volatility due to rising and falling investor confidence. It is of any major concern though? Nah…this might be just a mere dent on the hull.

HOW IT UNFOLDS (Eight of Pentacles)

Work…work…work. The hardworking energy of the Eight of Pentacles drives Keppel and its shares forward into the months ahead. The Eight of Pentacles shows a man labouring over eight coins, carefully etching out a pentacle shape into each coin. He is seen to be fully dedicating himself to the task at hand. He is concentrating very hard, eager to do a good job and avoiding making mistakes. As he crafts each coin, his skills improve and he becomes a master at his craft. One can expect this industrious vibration within Keppel as well.

OUTCOME (Devil)

The Devil card shows Baphomet, or the Horned Goat of Mendes, a creature that is half man, half goat. Baphomet originally represented the balance between good and evil, male and female, and human and animal; The card represents shadow/darker side and the unstoppable natural negative forces that constrains and holds one back from being the best version of yourself. The heck does this mean for Keppel shares? Simple…don’t get yourself trapped between the short-term pleasure from this piece of news and the longer-term pain you might experience. Intuition tells me that the fact that The Devil pops up, which is all about instant gratification, is one to avoid. In short, either refrain from making fast money from this particular stock, or resist the urge to gamble on quick gains through contra-day trading within the next 6 months. Should I go in for the longer term then? Well…once again…that’s purely up to you whether to buy, sell, hold…and a question for yet another reading at another point in time.
